Conquering the Switchbacks of Life On and Off Your Bike

You’re pedaling confidently up a a smooth uphill single-track trail. It’s perfectly cool and sunny, and you’re feeling free, fast and flowing, until you see a tight switchback ahead and need to think quickly and decide the best line choice. It’s a tight, tricky and steep turn which makes you lose your bike confidence and clearing it. But if you don’t, you’re going to be stuck in the same position or level, or you’re gonna have to go back down the mountain and start all over again, or you could decide. Yes, I want to make progress and figure out how to get around these big obstacles in life with the right people, resources and tools in partners that you need to to get to the top of your goals.

I’m bursting with inspiration to share with you. There’s something big happening in my life right now, and I can’t wait to spill the beans. So grab your cozy blanket, sip on your favorite tea, and let’s have a heart-to-heart!

Okay, so, drumroll, please… I’ve gone through a bit of a schedule shake-up. Yep, I’m a mom of some wonderful kiddos, and we’ve shifted to this one-week-on, seven-day neuro schedule, followed by a blissful week off. Let me tell you, it’s made a world of difference in my energy levels and focus. Being a solo mom, it’s like battling an epic quest every day, and guess what? The little ones don’t have a clue about our grown-up struggles! They just want top-notch parenting, 24/7. Can I get an “Amen” for that?

Now, I could have said no to this schedule change, but my darling kiddos had this idea of more family time, and I couldn’t resist. It’s been about three weeks now, and I’m in my second round of seven days straight with them. Let me tell you, it’s a challenge! And being a single mom in sunny California, where everything costs an arm and a leg, well, it’s like doing a high-wire act without a net. But you know what? I’m giving it my all!

This phase I’m going through is all about change and transition. They say that’s where the magic happens, right? Well, it’s true, but it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. I used to have more time for mountain biking and just having fun. But reality hit, and I realized I needed to hustle and make more moolah. So, I’ve been grinding, learning new stuff, and becoming my own boss. I’m all about that time management, avoiding overthinking, and finding the right tools to reach my goals.

Speaking of goals, my main mission right now is to surprise my daughter with a shiny new car for her sweet 16! And, on the side, I’m transforming my humble abode into a rental property here in Sonoma County while searching for a comfier home for my family’s future. Phew, I’ve got a plate full, but I’m determined to make it happen!

Every day feels like navigating a winding trail, much like when you’re mountain biking. You’ve got to keep your eyes on the path ahead, avoid those bumps, and stay in control. I’m learning to let go of the brakes, trust my instincts, and find the right balance, not just on my bike but also in my business endeavors. And guess what? Everything I learn in one place, I apply to the other. It’s like a never-ending cycle of growth!

Professionally, I’m juggling various projects, from working with a team in Yosemite to striking up new partnerships. I love bringing businesses together, negotiating deals, and diving into marketing and sales. But my heart’s desire is to give back to the mountain biking community.

My three amazing girls, aged 11, 13, and almost 16, have grown taller than me! They’re rocking it in soccer, volleyball, and school, and let me tell you, they keep me in check. We’re a tight-knit team, running our ship like pros. These girls are the future of empowered women, and they’re not afraid to be smart, confident, and unapologetic.

I pour my heart into sharing my journey every day because I want to inspire all you incredible people out there who love soaking up life, going on adventures, and cherishing your loved ones. My dream is to create a community of adventurous, happy, and healthy individuals who reap the rewards of such a beautiful life.

This transition I’m in feels like climbing up a twisty mountain trail. It’s all about adapting to new challenges and finding the way forward. Whether it’s dealing with a family loss, illness, a breakup, a job change, or any of life’s curveballs, I believe in reaching out for support. I’m here for anyone going through tough changes, right by your side.

So, remember, you’ve got the power to navigate life’s twists and turns with style, confidence, and the support of mentors, friends, and loved ones. Keep pedaling forward, my friends, and find joy in every step of the journey. Have a delightful evening, and remember that you’re never alone!
